Alas, part duex of the Portland trip. Keeping it weird with the bipolar weather and some overt color and print on a rainy day. Can’t over express how badly I feel for not committing enough time on thelifestyling. It’s the holiday season madness. I hope everyone’s got their Christmas shopping almost in order and your lives are filled with holiday cheer! We don’t want no scrooges, haha.
Quick recap of our foodie Portland Adventure – basically ate our way through town; a bunch of amazing places, you can’t go wrong. Have to admit, my top three goes out to the highly yelp rated places below:
Blue Star Donuts (more complex flavor offering than Voodoo)
Screen Door (brunch)
Pok Pok (Thai)

Faux vs Real fur. Such a touchy subject, fur real (pun intended). Controversial without a perfect solution that wouldn’t offend either sides of this argument. One will argue even faking the idea of fur is condoning the idea of wearing an animal. I get it, I love animals and I believe that they should be treated fairly. Sadly, I will admit that I do fancy the luxuriousness of fur. I’m going to share with you some factors for consideration so you can draw your own conclusion about fur:
Faux fur – Allows similar look and feel for the fraction of the price and it’s animal friendly. This is don as the ‘greener’ option but personally, it is not considered a fully environmentally-friendly option. Faux fur is made of synthetic fibers so once it’s disposed, it will be but another non-biodegradable object in landfill. Also, many times faux fur is made of acrylic, which is carcinogenic for factory workers who work with this chemical in high heat, but we shall save that discussion for another day. Ultimately, it has been found that fake fur IS at least a few times better for the environment than buying real fur because the treatments and processes done to preserve actual fur are not necessary for fake fur.
Real fur – ‘The real deal’. I do own real fur; However, I will not buy ‘new’ fur. I refer to ‘new’ fur as fresh kill (sorry to be so graphic), available in stores. You are this animal’s first owner. That is a lot of commitment and responsibility; are you going to love that piece for the rest of your life?! View it as buying a pet, don’t stop loving it once it’s not ‘in season’ anymore. Personally, my moral way of purchasing real fur is thrifting. It’s like adopting your fur piece before it is unloved and sent to the landfill graveyard. This piece is now abandoned with a second chance to find a new owner who will care for it, the animal(s) lost it’s life, and you want real fur.
Sending you off with some food for thought and a little Miley face!

There’s been a lot of wind lately, and I’m not necessarily speaking to weather; there’s a lot of talk but no good action or a step to a right place going on in the news. You’ve guessed it. The shutdown continues and I encourage for you to take just a little bit of your time to keep updated with whatever you can. And dig, really dig… There’s always plenty of dirt when you start with a shovel and you will see there’s a lot you will find.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. Truth.
On a breezier note, leave it to me to have my hair a mess in the actual wind. Some girls, they look like a scene in Baywatch, others are like Pocahontas – Colors of the Winds, and then there’s me… beastly uproar mixed with a little of The Grudge. Luckily I had Tomas to capture the tamed, haha.
Tremendous thanks to the multi-faceted talent, that is Tomas, for taking these amazing shots.

Sunday was a blend of throwback bliss; I met up with some old friends to picnic in the park, and dance to good tunes. Not to mention most of this outfit was thrown together with circa 07-08 in mind. Speaking about fashion collection dates, a funny conversation sprouted. If I could rock a rainbow of Celine purses, I’d probably drop that cash in a heartbeat; However, reality is, my life is like Lorde – Royals. I’m happy with what I got, even if it’s not a lot. So most of my outfits aren’t gonna consist of the new-new, but they are a reflection of me and what I make of all my clothes thrifted or bought on sale! Baller on a Budget, I’ll say it loud and proud! If you can relate, shout it out loud with me!
Now reverting back to the concert, Now and Zen brought back flashes of nostalgia. Not gonna lie… Goo Goo Dolls – Iris was my song, along with everyone else I’m sure. One Republic killed it with the mash ups of Same Love and Gold Digger. I love a melting pot of… Well, everything: music genres, high-low priced fashion, diversity, culture, you name it. Think of it this way; we’re all living the same struggles on this earth so to open your eyes and see beyond just what you want to see, and notice like the movie Crash, we are all connected and as a whole, it is beautiful.
Thanks to Hung Fong, for her awesome photography.

Talk about extreme pop-up; not fully aware of the event’s elegance and its masquerade theme, I dashed home from work to throw on all white attire. Had I known, I would’ve dressed more up to part; at least I got the monochromic color memo down. I played it safe and wore what would transition to the pub crawl ensued. It was my first time attending Le Dîner, or any event similar. If you love decor, this is the all white dream turned reality because most of the table settings here were decorated so lavishly. Le Dîner à San Francisco is a flash dinner picnic held annually in only SF locations. The location is kept secret and revealed only a few hours before the start of the event. Mucho thanks to my girl friend Connie, for inviting me! It was the perfect, fancy way to start off the weekend that is now over *sad face.

Happy Monday! This is a recap on yesterday, a busy Sunday to be in the city. It was commotion with the Do Over, Dunk Exchange, Soma StrEats, and of course, the Niners game. These heels were a serious steal I found for a whopping $23. Can I get a hell yeah for heels I can walk all day and night in? Well, I wanted to break these babies in so why not look like “that one girl” wearing heels to a food truck event to watch the game. It went so well with the tee. AND WHAT? It’s that Sunday spirit.
