Alas, part duex of the Portland trip. Keeping it weird with the bipolar weather and some overt color and print on a rainy day. Can’t over express how badly I feel for not committing enough time on thelifestyling. It’s the holiday season madness. I hope everyone’s got their Christmas shopping almost in order and your lives are filled with holiday cheer! We don’t want no scrooges, haha.
Quick recap of our foodie Portland Adventure – basically ate our way through town; a bunch of amazing places, you can’t go wrong. Have to admit, my top three goes out to the highly yelp rated places below:
Blue Star Donuts (more complex flavor offering than Voodoo)
Screen Door (brunch)
Pok Pok (Thai)

An outfit of irrelevance now that autumn is truly here, chilling to the bones. I’ve been meaning to post this as soon I returned some weekends ago; however, I was overtaken by sloth behavior. Fighting this lingering cold (ugh!), I decided to take break from exercise to rest, resulting to depleted energy levels. I’m slowly mustering back some energy and recalibrating to my norm, just in time for another weekend trip.. only to find myself back in recovery mode. Then it’ll be my birthday/Thanksgiving food coma (I’m starting to notice the trend here).
That past weekend of October will remain a significant piece of my life. I would say it’ll mean much more for my best friend (or at least it better). I phoned all our close friends and her boyfriend to prepare a surprise gathering for her birthday. It was beyond successful; everyone contributed in creating such a memorable weekend. Really, how can you go wrong with non-stop fooding, spectacular rooftop views, sharing hilarious jokes with great friends and a chance to meet Chili & T-Boz of TLC? Coming from a girl that obsessed over her limited edition Fan Mail CD because it was holographic, and still bumping TLC until this very day, I was on cloud nine for at least the next 72 hours due to short conversation with them. There are a hand full of celebrities that I’d lose my shiz for, and TLC is one of them… I mean I even referred to them in a previous post: here.

There’s been a lot of wind lately, and I’m not necessarily speaking to weather; there’s a lot of talk but no good action or a step to a right place going on in the news. You’ve guessed it. The shutdown continues and I encourage for you to take just a little bit of your time to keep updated with whatever you can. And dig, really dig… There’s always plenty of dirt when you start with a shovel and you will see there’s a lot you will find.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. Truth.
On a breezier note, leave it to me to have my hair a mess in the actual wind. Some girls, they look like a scene in Baywatch, others are like Pocahontas – Colors of the Winds, and then there’s me… beastly uproar mixed with a little of The Grudge. Luckily I had Tomas to capture the tamed, haha.
Tremendous thanks to the multi-faceted talent, that is Tomas, for taking these amazing shots.

Trouve studded leather jacket (similar), Foreign Exchange dress, Lia Sophia necklace, Alexander Wang shoes
This is a post that encompasses a bit of my favorites: my Alexander Wangs (oldie but a goodie), my studded leather jacket (also another oldie. With both paired together, I can’t help feeling a little badass), and of course, my city. Attended an event held at the Fairmont hotel and the view of the city from the penthouse was spectacular! There’s just something about San Francisco; it should very well be further known as the ‘City of Love’. Speaking of, yay for love – same sex marriage passed and Pride just happened over the weekend; the town was painted with all the colors of the rainbow. We were even blessed with a sunset that transformed the sky into a massive rainbow taking over the world before night falls. Absolutely magical. I’ve lived in the city all my life and yet the views never grow old. Our skyline is gorgeous and maybe I’m a bit biased because there is really no other city like SF. That I can say with confidence.. Jeezy would say, “I put on for my city”.
H&M flower petal dress, Pacsun necklace, vintage Dooney & Bourke bag, Oscar de la Renta sunglasses, Chanel slingback heels
Nothing like starting a summer’s morning early with the sound of champagne bottle popping and uncorking some vino. The girls and I decided to keep it classy with a limo trip to Napa for some good old wine tasting. A perfect occasion to dust off this flower petal dress I bought a few years back for graduation. Even then, I still adore the petals and this will probably be the few things that I own that oozes femininity. A shift dress with thrills and frills especially in white may be a concern for some since none of those attribute to being figure flattering. So a quick and easy solve I like to do, is ‘waist’ it. I cinched the waist with an elastic band, you can easily use a skinny belt or have fun and use ribbon etc, just so I don’t look anymore boxier than my day to day. Threw my necessities into my usual vintage D&G cross-body and kept my pinkies up as I slipped into my beloved color-block Chanel’s.
Nordstrom top and cardigan, Gap camo chinos, Aldo heels, vintage Dooney & Bourke bag, vintage silver cuff
I have my hand on my head so much here, I know you might mistaken me for having a massive headache. Thanks for the concern and nope, hardly the case. I’d like to place partial blame on the combination of the wind and my long hair, mixed with poor attempts to do something with my hands.
So once you get to know me, you’ll find that I love baggy tees and sweaters. This cardigan has bat wings and paired with the grey baggy, box tee, I gave it a little knot to create some dimension. Sadly again, the wind loves to blow me around so if you think I’m top heavy, that’s all I gotta say about that!
Ps. These Aldo pumps are ages old and my first pair of stilettos. Can you tell from the teeny tiny almost kitten heel? I’ll be honest.. I had no idea how to walk in heels then. Okay, let’s be really honest… I still can’t sometimes but that won’t stop me now! How about you? When was your first pair of stilettos and did you magically strut with them?

Am I allowed to hashtag late-post and sorry for the delay on here? Oh well, here it is: #latepost #sorryfornotpostinganythingsooner. Yes, I did the extremely long hashtag. They tend to be a pet peeve for some and hilarious for others. I personally view it as a mini challenge deciphering, especially when the letters jumbo and I completely misinterpret the words; it’s similar to the old lady vs young lady illusion. Remember when it was only called the pound sign? Believe me when I say I was mind boggled when introduced the name, “hashtag”. In my silly mind, I thought, “So.. does that mean if you ever called a business and was prompted to ‘press pound’, it’ll now be … (I’m not even gonna finish my sentence because you can only guess where it’s going). Shut up, if you think it’s stupid and high five, if you agree because that seriously went through my mind, even if for a few seconds. Enough on the hash tagging craze.
Last week was busy busy and this was an outfit from a few weeks back. It’s so hard to just stop and smell the roses and when I do, I completely indulge and ‘lax out to the max. At this point, I’m still re-evaluating my time and figuring out a good balance. A part of that time, I’ve made a promise to make more time for this! So look forward to the posts upcoming; I have some super easy and helpful tips I can’t wait to share! May it pertain to food (yum), health (woohoo!), fashion (hello…) or just random rumbo-jumbo (might happen)! Stay tuned!
