Alas, part duex of the Portland trip. Keeping it weird with the bipolar weather and some overt color and print on a rainy day. Can’t over express how badly I feel for not committing enough time on thelifestyling. It’s the holiday season madness. I hope everyone’s got their Christmas shopping almost in order and your lives are filled with holiday cheer! We don’t want no scrooges, haha.
Quick recap of our foodie Portland Adventure – basically ate our way through town; a bunch of amazing places, you can’t go wrong. Have to admit, my top three goes out to the highly yelp rated places below:
Blue Star Donuts (more complex flavor offering than Voodoo)
Screen Door (brunch)
Pok Pok (Thai)

Holy moly, I guess I should probably post day 1 pics from our mini Portlandia foodie adventure from the beginning of the month. With an abundance of celebrations, and being sick (again. UGH), it’s been difficult to muster up the energy to get to blogging. I’ve also been prepping myself mentally as I started in a new role and sure enough, the start date was my birthday! If that’s not a good sign, I’m not sure what is. So please forgive as life has been sucking the life outta me, in the best way, of course!
Back to Portland.. What a beautiful city, even with random spikes of rain and 5 seconds of hail. It was the perfect time to escape and experience actual autumn with leaves turning color and the crisp cold air, slightly chilling to the bones. So I know we’re not suppose to be chasing waterfalls, but god damn, we did so anyways. Why? Because Multnomah Falls is breathtaking. If I could just sit in solitude without becoming a icicle or eventually get drenched by rain, trust, that is where you’ll find me.

An outfit of irrelevance now that autumn is truly here, chilling to the bones. I’ve been meaning to post this as soon I returned some weekends ago; however, I was overtaken by sloth behavior. Fighting this lingering cold (ugh!), I decided to take break from exercise to rest, resulting to depleted energy levels. I’m slowly mustering back some energy and recalibrating to my norm, just in time for another weekend trip.. only to find myself back in recovery mode. Then it’ll be my birthday/Thanksgiving food coma (I’m starting to notice the trend here).
That past weekend of October will remain a significant piece of my life. I would say it’ll mean much more for my best friend (or at least it better). I phoned all our close friends and her boyfriend to prepare a surprise gathering for her birthday. It was beyond successful; everyone contributed in creating such a memorable weekend. Really, how can you go wrong with non-stop fooding, spectacular rooftop views, sharing hilarious jokes with great friends and a chance to meet Chili & T-Boz of TLC? Coming from a girl that obsessed over her limited edition Fan Mail CD because it was holographic, and still bumping TLC until this very day, I was on cloud nine for at least the next 72 hours due to short conversation with them. There are a hand full of celebrities that I’d lose my shiz for, and TLC is one of them… I mean I even referred to them in a previous post: here.

There’s been a lot of wind lately, and I’m not necessarily speaking to weather; there’s a lot of talk but no good action or a step to a right place going on in the news. You’ve guessed it. The shutdown continues and I encourage for you to take just a little bit of your time to keep updated with whatever you can. And dig, really dig… There’s always plenty of dirt when you start with a shovel and you will see there’s a lot you will find.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. Truth.
On a breezier note, leave it to me to have my hair a mess in the actual wind. Some girls, they look like a scene in Baywatch, others are like Pocahontas – Colors of the Winds, and then there’s me… beastly uproar mixed with a little of The Grudge. Luckily I had Tomas to capture the tamed, haha.
Tremendous thanks to the multi-faceted talent, that is Tomas, for taking these amazing shots.

Happy Monday! This is a recap on yesterday, a busy Sunday to be in the city. It was commotion with the Do Over, Dunk Exchange, Soma StrEats, and of course, the Niners game. These heels were a serious steal I found for a whopping $23. Can I get a hell yeah for heels I can walk all day and night in? Well, I wanted to break these babies in so why not look like “that one girl” wearing heels to a food truck event to watch the game. It went so well with the tee. AND WHAT? It’s that Sunday spirit.

If you love something, you wear the bajeezus outta it, right? Exactly. Part of the rotation is this jacket (see here) and these high-waist black jeans that fit like a glove. Oh and sneaker wedges, been coveting since day one yet avoided purchasing a pair for the longest time. Already owning more than a handful of kicks that I hardly wear now, I didn’t want another excuse to allow them to collect dust. Then a sale happened (a while back) and I got saw these wannabe Isabel Marants at Urban Outfitters for about $20. SOLD. Saved me from questioning a $600 purchase on the real deal; so sorry fashion gods, please forgive me for I am just the typical broke post-college student of life now trying to get her shiz together, haha!

Overcast on a summer’s day. Sleepy, squinty eyes. Comfortable attire and catching up over brunch with some good friends. With the latter taken place, the day’s not all too bad. So what, the leopard may be a bit much for some but I’m a sucker for harem pants and toned down with cozy neutrals, I can dig it.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I’ve been on a ever long streak of not shopping so all the previous and future posts will most likely be outfits utilizing what I already own. Don’t get me wrong since I’ve made a few misdemeanors, purchasing some newbies so it’s all about self control. Sadly, I believe that all the money I’ve saved myself from shopping is counteracted by my food consumption… and that’s another topic up for discussion.
I can’t wait for a wardrobe revamp but until then, this whole not buying new, has really pushed me to flip my drawers, trying to style pieces together. It’s a fun challenge I’ve accepted where I have my days when I think “why the hell did I buy this” and days when I’m like “oh yeah… forgot how cute this was”. Point is, it allows me be more aware, economical and sustainable to our environment. Rather than constantly in with the new-new, I’m a big advocate for thrifting (before the thrift shop song popularizing it) and just finding ways to ‘recycle’ your clothing – whether it be re-thinking how you wear it, turning things into a DIY project, donating, etc. Hope it can inspire you to dig through your closet and pay a visit to some of the old and mixing it with your new.
