top: Nike’s Niners jersey
shoes: Converse ‘Classic‘
I’ve been on a numbered/jersey type tops craze as of late so in light of Sundays, I couldn’t resist throwing this on. Being a daddy’s girl, it’s a given to say, of all sports, I’ve always had the best time watching football. Too many memories took place with my dad and uncles running around the house, screaming and shouting; the energy in the room was contagious and it’s precious to my dad having a ball. I know where I get my craziness from (and looks – love mama, but I really do look like my pops, haha). As a born and raised city girl, the niners are all I know to rep, so go on with your wagon talk if you must. I’ll just address it now… love going to the games to sitting around the TV with the main men (dad and uncles) but I won’t be able to hold a conversation about sports without sounding like an idiot, unless we’re discussing their butts. I mean, really, I can only hope for my butt to look slightly as good as their in spandex. Glad I could put that out there.
Anyways, I had an incredibly busy yet lovely weekend out of town with my besties. We got back early enough for the opportunity to grab some #ootd shots with the city as the backdrop. Oh, hayyy!xo,tfny.
Zara open back tee, H&M bikini top, American Apparel hampton shorts, thrifted flats
It’s as if a emotional raincloud rolls over my head like I’m Eeyore as I revisit pictures to post of my previous weekend; envious for some nice, sunny weather compared to this misty fog of a city summer. I’m a girl who can live off tanks, tees and shorts if the weather would just abide. Mark Twain once quoted, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco”. With that said, I spent a lovely weekend with beloved friends over by the lake. We were so stoked to be boating only to arrive with the water running dry. From the crazy global warming conditions, on top of them sucking out all the lake water to be sold… Did we end up going to a lake or a puddle? It seems like we (as human beings) are doing too much attempting to act like Mother Nature: moving bodies of water, creating rainclouds, chopping down rainforests… all that. We’re playing too much with fire here. Anyways, just my opinion and something to think about. For everyone else outside of SF that has Mr. Sun’s attention, dance around in a bikini for me while I wrap myself in a snuggie!
PS. It’s already a week into August? Um, semi-freak out moment.
Gap jacket, Zara tee, Urban Outfitters high waist jeans, Urban Outfitters sneaker wedges, vintage Coach ‘Willis‘ bag, Marc Jacobs spike ring
If you love something, you wear the bajeezus outta it, right? Exactly. Part of the rotation is this jacket (see here) and these high-waist black jeans that fit like a glove. Oh and sneaker wedges, been coveting since day one yet avoided purchasing a pair for the longest time. Already owning more than a handful of kicks that I hardly wear now, I didn’t want another excuse to allow them to collect dust. Then a sale happened (a while back) and I got saw these wannabe Isabel Marants at Urban Outfitters for about $20. SOLD. Saved me from questioning a $600 purchase on the real deal; so sorry fashion gods, please forgive me for I am just the typical broke post-college student of life now trying to get her shiz together, haha!
Zara dress, Marc Jacobs bracelet, Vera Bradley wallet, Target booties, Marc Jacobs glasses (holding in hand)
Given in love. To defend. Given in love for protection. Whatever the translation on this Latin phrase may be on my bracelet, it is of that gist. The word “love”, thrown around so loosely yet the display and actions of love seem a bit harder to come by when watching the news or simply walking to work. But, I believe it’s still there and it’s all around, even if its hidden in the nooks and crannies. I’m a hopeless romantic. Just because I’m not currently in a relationship, it doesn’t mean all of a sudden I’m cynical. No way, we still have our relationships with so much more; love, to me is beyond just two people. It’s with family, friends, the self, strangers, across nations, and for everything.
What I meant with needing more love in the world is a friendly reminder to do a good deed for someone that you owe nothing to; it’s as simple as a gentle smile. If you’re having a lousy day, wouldn’t you want something randomly sweet to happen to turn that frown upside down? Well, I’m sure at least five other people around the world are feeling the same exact way. Anyways, some food for thought. Have a good day : )
Rubbish sheer embroidered peplum top (similar), Express boxy tee, Forever 21 distressed zipper jeans (similar), vintage belt, Zara heels, vintage classic Coach bag
I can’t believe I’m so tempted to start the post with… wait for it… “Yup, in my white tee!” (dang, just brought it back to the early 2000’s when guys swam in XXXL Tall Tees from Foot Locker) but in my case, I’m rocking the over-sized boxy tee. I wanted to remain fairly minimalistic and stuck with neutrals – white, black and hints of gold… and my blue nail polish. Excuse that, haha. Decided to give this big ol’ shirt a little knot to expose some of the sheer peplum top that I paired underneath to give some texture. With all the gold hardware, it was only proper to complete the mini gold message with the gold heeled sandals. Thanks to my cousin for passing off these Zara heels to me because they’re definitely an attention grabber. Well, it’s either that or the fact that the ankle strap it a bit too high so it makes walking slightly difficult so, in all actuality, I could just be strutting like a running camel. Enjoy that lovely imagery, and I’ll leave you all with that, haha!
